Jackie Ferris | Art Psychotherapy
She/Her
Art Therapy for Ages 12+
Jackie supports pre-teens, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to express what’s going on inside. Using a person-centered art therapy approach, she helps clients build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and confidence, without relying solely on words.
Born and raised in Centre Wellington, Jackie brings a warm, relatable presence to her work with local youth and families.
A great fit for reluctant or hesitant clients
Art therapy can be especially helpful for youth who are unsure about, or resistant to, therapy. There’s no pressure to “open up” right away. The creative process offers a more comfortable, indirect way to explore thoughts and feelings, often making it easier to engage, build trust, and feel safe over time.
What sessions are like
Sessions are flexible, collaborative, and tailored to the individual. Clients might use drawing, painting, sculpture or mixed media to:
- Express emotions they can’t yet put into words
- Make sense of overwhelming experiences
- Explore identity, relationships, and patterns
- Develop coping strategies in a more natural, engaging way
Jackie gently integrates conversation when helpful, but allows the art-making process to lead, supporting insight, emotional release, and meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable.
